Are You Having A Texas-Themed Party?

Blog

Are you planning a Texas-themed party for this summer or for the upcoming fall? If it's this summer, you are probably hustling to make your plans. If the party isn't until this fall, then you have the luxury of taking your time with your plans. Are you celebrating a birthday or another special occasion? Perhaps you are hosting a big family reunion event at your house. Whatever the occasion, from planning the catering to planning the entertainment, here are some ideas that might help you to plan a great Texas-themed party.

The Catering - Of course, your guests will love just being together and visiting. However, most people will come to your party ready for a great meal. Consider arranging for catering, such as fromBenedict's Catering & Events, so that you can concentrate on just joining your guests, having fun without having to do a bunch of cooking and cleaning. Since you are hosting a Texas-themed party, you probably want food for which Texas is famous. One idea is to have an assortment of barbecued meats, say chicken, brisket, sausage and maybe even turkey legs. Sides like corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, string beans with onions and Texas chocolate sheet cake would more than likely be well received by your guests. Another idea is to serve Mexican food, the kind you might eat at a restaurant in San Antonio or Laredo, Texas. Or, think about asking the caterers to do a combination of barbecued foods and Mexican foods.

The Entertainment - Just how elaborate do you want to go for your Texas-themed party? If you want to keep the entertainment simple, think of having a sing-along where everybody gets to sing songs about Texas. For example, you could print out the words to songs like Deep In The Heart Of Texas and God Bless Texas for everybody to sing together, maybe to the tune of a guitar. If you want something more grand, consider having a DJ come. Besides popular songs, ask the DJ to play songs from years gone by for those guests who might not be familiar with today's hits. Think about asking somebody to teach everybody how to do the Texas-two step dance or to lead everybody in a line dance. If you haven't line danced before, you will probably be surprised at how easy it is to learn. And, since the caterers have taken care of the cleaning after the meal you and your guests have eaten, you can have fun right along with your guests.

Renting Party Supplies

When you're hosting a party, you have to carefully consider all you will need for your guests. My name is Lila, and I have always loved planning my friends' parties. I've helped with wedding receptions, children's birthday parties, baby showers, retirement parties and other celebrations. When you plan an event, one way to get stuck is to forget to rent something you need. Whether it's chairs, kitchen supplies, a bouncy house or something else, it's important to know what you need when you begin your plans. I'll show you how to anticipate what to rent and how to find the best rental company with the right fees.
