Tips For Planning A Destination Wedding

Blog

Planning a destination wedding isn't as difficult as you may think. However, there are a lot of details that you need to arrange before your wedding date. Check out these tips to make planning your dream destination wedding simple.

Be Realistic

Having a destination wedding may mean that your wedding is smaller than you would prefer. Don't expect your friends and family members to drop everything going on in their lives to travel for your wedding. You should expect some people to decline your invitation because traveling isn't financially feasible, they can't take time off of work, or they have other family obligations.

If you're planning a larger destination wedding, you should start your planning early. People need time to make arrangements and prepare to travel. So giving your guests six months to a year advance notice may make it possible for them to come.

Asking People to be Part of Your Bridal Party

You probably already have an idea of who you want to ask to be a part of your wedding. However, because you're not getting married in your hometown, you can't expect everyone you ask to say "yes." Before you ask someone to be a part of your big day, tell the person that you're planning a destination wedding. Then, give the person a few days to answer you. This way, the people you ask to be a part of your bridal party can make sure it's feasible for them and you have people who accept the invitation back out at the last minute.

Choosing a Destination

You don't have to travel outside of the country to plan a destination wedding. There are plenty of resorts and condos, such as Sandcastle Condos, in the US that hold large events and weddings. Most resorts and condos have event venues on site so that you don't need to rent multiple venues. If you want to get married on the beach, Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Georgia are all good options. Or you could travel to Colorado or upstate New York in the winter to get married at a ski resort. Regardless of where you choose to get married, you'll need the help of a wedding planner. So if the resort, condo complex, or ski lodge doesn't have one on site, you should hire someone local to help you make arrangements.

Planning a destination wedding doesn't need to be hard, and it isn't if you give yourself enough time to take care of small wedding details.

Renting Party Supplies

When you're hosting a party, you have to carefully consider all you will need for your guests. My name is Lila, and I have always loved planning my friends' parties. I've helped with wedding receptions, children's birthday parties, baby showers, retirement parties and other celebrations. When you plan an event, one way to get stuck is to forget to rent something you need. Whether it's chairs, kitchen supplies, a bouncy house or something else, it's important to know what you need when you begin your plans. I'll show you how to anticipate what to rent and how to find the best rental company with the right fees.
